North Node in Aquarius & South Node in Leo
The nodal shift from personal recognition to collective contribution

Tonight on July 26th at 5:50 pm PST, the lunar nodes move on from the Pisces/Virgo axis and begin a new cycle in North Node in Aquarius/South Node in Leo axis, lasting until around March 26th, 2028.
This station of Saturn in Aries occurs around the same day that Uranus in Gemini squares the Aries-Libra axis, having done so from June 12th through November 8th of this year (this is basically an entrance into eclipse season, after the heavy, emotionally volatile Mercury Rx Cancer month that just ended). We can also expect a solar eclipse to burn through Leo on August 12th. And a lunar eclipse in Pisces on August 27th.
As a heads up, in the last quarter of this year we will be walking through the looking glass into our relationships with Venus in retrograde. The 2026 in general requires a lot of inner resilience and patience as we’re all learning how to emotionally regulate through the presentations of what and who will challenge/test each and every one of us.
Experiencing a node shift may not be immediately obvious at first, so you’re going to see how this pans out slowly over time. What I will say is that you may experience a slight discomfort with how your current identity mirrors back to you out in the world; there’s a discomfort here that’s subtle.
The South Node in Leo represents all the parts of you that strive for personal attention and approval early in life. North Node in Aquarius poses a more challenging question about the purpose of your uniqueness.
Leo seeks to be recognized. Aquarius seeks to be helpful. The transition between roughly the next 2 years involves wrestling with both dichotomies. Contrary to popular belief in many pop astrology circles, don’t make the mistake that we are to diminish all “Leo-like” things within us just because the South Node is here...
Leo needs their blind spot checked by their community and to get called out whenever necessary because no leader is ever perfect. A truly brave leader is willing to take the constructive feedback of the people they’re supporting as much as they revel in the glory.
Aquarius needs to come up for air and, through the witnessing of others, gets crucial feedback on whether the experiment or their ideas are actually working for humanity or not. And developing an ego is actually necessary to participate in actually being human and not a machine.
We will see this play out on the greater collective world stage, especially with world leaders.
Even though I’m not a fan of Kanye West due to his severe antisemitic remarks, I think the lyrics from his song “Power” are worth mentioning (albeit ironic) as they truly encapsulate the nodes:
No one man should have all that power
The clock’s ticking, I just count the hours
Stop tripping, I'm tripping off the power
The lower octaves of Leo will be brought to light for a purge to occur.
That's what a nodal shift does. Whatever the south node has ruled gets pulled fully into daylight, exposed until it can finally be released. It should be no surprise to anyone that society has exploited a lucrative business from Leo’s dark side, where self-promotion for self-promo sake is the purpose rather than the first step (late-stage capitalism and influencer culture haven’t helped in this respect), and this process will become more difficult to justify during this nodal cycle.
The most obvious signs of this looks like
Personal brand functioning only as a machine for replicated applause and vanity.
Main character energy that can’t be bothered to notice the systemic issues everyone else is navigating.
Chasing fame and virality as the endgame, while the actual world keeps burning in the background.
The nodes will facilitate inner reflections, the necessary internal progress of purging, so that what remains is not false light but authentic leadership with genuine willingness to help others.
You might notice, in whatever small way is true for you, that the performance of yourself is starting to bore you.
This begins close to home. Your existing friendships, connections, the groups you've folded yourself into: these become the testing ground for how aligned you actually are. Consider this a season for practicing your no. For getting sharper at walking away from anything that asks less of you than you're worth. This time is a practicing ground for the person you’re becoming. It’s letting the world see what you’re willing to go to war over and trusting the rest will unravel.
Uranus has been squaring the nodes this month. So structures built on individual recognition are finally giving out under the pressure, in ways that catch people off guard even though nothing about them was sudden. A multibillion-dollar corporation reverses its own policy overnight. A community you trusted turns out to have blind spots, or rot it had been hiding for years. Technology keeps sprinting ahead of any real conversation about what it's doing to democracy and to human dignity & life.
A more radically shared world doesn't arrive because someone extends a polite invitation to it. Uranus works by shaking the boat hard enough that whatever was built on the old foundation has no choice but to buckle, clearing space for something else to take its place. We are the 1st responders to the aftermath of the collapse. Eventually, we will all come to figure out what each of our roles are to contributing to a better world ahead.
Saturn stationing retrograde in Aries on the very same day is also worth paying attention to. For the next six months, your most valuable ally is probably the quiet, unremarkable check-in you keep showing up for.
None of this wraps up over a weekend. Nodal shifts move on a scale of years, and this one runs until March of 2028. This nodal shift isn't going to hand you a fully realized Aquarius self by September. What it asks for is smaller than that, and it repeats: noticing, again and again, the old pull toward personal recognition when it shows up demanding center stage, and choosing collective contribution anyway. Some days that'll actually feel like growth. Other days it'll just feel like discomfort with no reward in sight.
Regardless of how you feel about the process, the purging of the old hierarchal ways of which we have believed about ego, leadership, and visibility is happening no matter how resistant many are to it.
Themes You’ll Encounter & How To Make The Best Out of It
Watch the distance between what gets said publicly and what actually gets done privately, in leaders and institutions, yes, but also in yourself. This cycle rewards people willing to notice where their own stated values and their actual daily choices have quietly drifted apart. Money, comfort, and convenience shape more decisions than most of us admit out loud. Closing your own optics gap by even one honest degree matters more than correctly diagnosing everyone else's.
The spiritual and wellness industries have grown their own version of Leo's shadow, dressed up as light masking as pure ego. Toxic positivity, love-and-light bypassing, sending a blessing toward a problem instead of doing the harder work underneath it, all of it belongs to the exact pattern this cycle asks you to outgrow the next 2 years. Real discernment doesn't skip the structural, financial, or political realities of your actual life just because they're unpleasant to look at. If a practice only ever makes you feel better and never asks anything harder of you, is that really the full spectrum of the human/spiritual embodied experience?
Be at peace with being misunderstood, even by the people who share your bed and your last name. It means holding a countercultural position with your spine straight, without needing a chorus of agreement first. Any single culture allowed to dominate completely ends up owning everyone caught inside it. What actually treats that sickness looks like plurality, small, true, stubborn pockets of people building something that does not need the whole world’s permission to matter.
Ask who is actually being fed before you call a group a community. Do the unglamorous, structural thing this cycle even when no camera will ever find it. Find the small handful of people who see you clearly with the lights off, and let that be worth more than any vanity metric number could ever be. Refrain from sharing all your good deeds on Instagram just stroke your ego.
Technology, AI, and other tools of collective power will keep expanding fast during this cycle, and the same old question follows every leap forward: who does this actually serve?? Prometheus stole fire for ordinary hands, not for his own throne, and that's the version of innovation this axis rewards. Before adopting, building with, or evangelizing any new tool, ask whether it concentrates power into fewer hands or distributes real capability into more of them.
Everything I've walked through so far happens overhead, in the sky, on a timeline everyone alive right now is moving through at the same time.
But do know you also carry your own set of nodes, fixed in your natal chart the exact moment you arrived here, and that layer belongs only to you.
It's been quietly running underneath your life this whole time, encoded with the specific gifts you already carry and the specific growth you're here to claim, regardless of what's happening collectively in any given year.
Discover the Karmic Axis In Your Birth Chart Workshop
Most teaching on the lunar nodes flattens them into a simple story, South Node as the thing to escape, North Node as the thing to chase.
I created this workshop so we take that binary apart, and I'll show you how to actually integrate both sides, the way evolutionary astrology always intended them to be worked with.
This is a 3 hour instant access workshop that comes with a digitally fillable workbook, built to help the lessons actually land in your day to day life instead of staying theoretical.

Understanding the Impact on Your Chart
To feel how these nodes actually lands personally for you during the next 20 months, here are interpretations by rising sign, using whole sign houses. Because this is an axis and not a single planet, two houses light up for you: the one holding the North Node in Aquarius, and the other holding the South Node in Leo.
Aries Rising
This lands in your 5th and 11th houses. You may start gravitating toward communities organized around a cause you actually believe in, made up of people who don't know your whole history and don't need to. A humanitarian project, an online network built around something you'd fight for even without an audience, a friend group that coheres around where everyone's headed next. Watch out for competitiveness. Instead of striving to win over others, focus on what it looks for the whole group getting somewhere it couldn't have gotten without you leading the charge, credit shared and all.
Journal Prompt: What would it feel like to lead something I didn't need to be the face of?
Taurus Rising
This activates your 4th and 10th houses. Home, family, the quiet foundation of your own emotional floor have been where you have felt safest, most in control of the weather. The North Node moving through your 10th now asks you to carry that same steadiness out into daylight, into your career, your name in the world, the role you are willing to be seen playing. You may be asked to lead in a way you have spent years avoiding, or to let your working life be built on what you actually value instead of only what kept your family's roof from caving in. Old inherited ideas about what a successful life is supposed to look like are worth interrogating here, out loud, without apology. You get to build a public legacy that finally matches the private truth underneath it.
Journal Prompt: What would it look like to let my career be built on my values instead of on what kept my family safe?
Gemini Rising
This one lands in your 3rd and 9th houses. You may have built a whole identity around your voice, your wit, the sharp thing you can say at exactly the right second to win the room. The North Node moving into your 9th now asks that same voice to grow a spine, to mature into something with real structure holding it up. Teaching. Publishing. A philosophy you could actually stand inside instead of just a clever line you throw and walk away from. You may find yourself caring less about being quick and more about being right for the long haul. Your everyday chatter starts feeling small next to the larger questions now pulling at your sleeve.
Journal Prompt: What do I actually believe, once I stop performing quick answers?
Cancer Rising
This activates your 2nd and 8th houses. A worth built quietly and privately, entirely on your own terms, your own resources, your own private sense of enough, has been your comfort zone. The North Node moving into your 8th now asks you to let your worth and your resources actually tangle with someone else's. Shared money, real intimacy, another person's energy braiding itself into your own story whether that feels comfortable or not. This can feel like standing without your clothes on if you are used to being fully self-contained. But there is real growth waiting in letting yourself need something you cannot conjure alone.
Journal Prompt: Where am I still trying to prove I don't need anyone, and what would change if I let that go?
Leo Rising
This one lands directly on your own Ascendant and Descendant, your 1st and 7th houses, so for anyone reading this, you are standing closest to the fire. The South Node has been circling your identity for a while now and finally sinks its whole weight into it, which means the era of just me, doing my thing, being undeniably myself and needing nothing else, is closing its door. The North Node in your 7th asks you to actually let another person's perspective get inside you and rearrange the furniture. Partnership, negotiation, real compromise, being shaped by somebody else instead of only being admired by them. This is a big one for you. Your relationships over these next two years will ask far more of you than self-directed goals ever did.
Journal Prompts: What would it feel like to let a relationship actually change me, not just reflect me?
Virgo Rising
This activates your 6th and 12th houses. You have built your whole sense of self around being useful, competent, the one with every detail already handled. The North Node in your 6th now asks you to pour that service into something more guided towards the collective and humanitarian focused, work that outlives your own to-do list, systems that hold more people up than just you. Meanwhile the South Node sinking into your 12th means some private, hidden pattern you have been quietly carrying in your body is finally ready to dissolve. Rest actually counts as productive here. Spiritual practice counts. Letting something go without being able to justify it in words counts too, more than being right about it ever did.
Journal prompts: What am I ready to stop hiding, even from myself?
Libra Rising
This lands in your 5th and 11th houses. You have built your identity around community, friendship, being the one the group genuinely likes having around. The North Node moving into your 5th now asks something far more personal of you. Make the creative thing. Have the romance that requires your courage. Let yourself be the individual artist instead of always the group's favorite supporting character. You may find yourself pulling back from certain friend circles or causes that once defined you with calm neutrality. You realize in the next 2 years that your own creative fire needs a new room for you to fully thrive.
Journal Prompt: What do I want to make or feel, purely for myself, with no group approval attached?
Scorpio Rising
This activates your 4th and 10th houses. Career and public reputation have been where you have felt most in control, most able to manage exactly how the light hits you. North Node moving into your 4th asks you to carry that same intensity home, into your family patterns, your emotional root system, the parts of you that maybe your colleagues or the greater public has never ever laid eyes on and no controlled image can protect. This is harder than the career work, because home doesn't reward mastery the way a boardroom does.
Journal Prompt: What does my home life need from me that my career has been absorbing instead?
Sagittarius Rising
This lands in your 3rd and 9th houses. Big philosophies, long journeys, teaching from somewhere high up on a mountain have been your natural home. The North Node moving into your 3rd now asks you to bring all that wisdom back down to the ground, into ordinary daily conversations, your own neighborhood, your siblings, the small daily exchanges that requires being an active listener. You may find your real growth happening inside a text thread instead of being on a stage or constantly in a teacher’s role.
Journal Prompt: Where is my everyday voice asking to matter as much as my big ideas?
Capricorn Rising
This activates your 2nd and 8th houses. Deep intimacy, shared resources, other people's money and other people's emotional weight have been familiar ground, maybe too familiar. The North Node moving into your 2nd now asks you to build a separate, entirely your own sense of worth and resource, something that does not need to merge with anyone else's to feel solid. You may find yourself stepping back from codependent financial or emotional arrangements in favor of something plainer and completely, finally yours.
Journal Prompt: What would financial and emotional independence actually feel like in my body?
Aquarius Rising
This lands directly on your own Ascendant and Descendant too, your 1st and 7th houses. The North Node entering your own sign means the next twenty months are about becoming more undeniably, unapologetically yourself, your ideas, your particular strangeness, your own vision for how things could actually work. The South Node leaving your 1st and sinking into your 7th means old patterns of needing a partner to complete you or confirm you are finally loosening their grip. You get to become a whole person first, and someone's partner second.
Journal Prompt: Who am I becoming when I stop shaping myself around a partner's expectations?
Pisces Rising
This activates your 6th and 12th houses. Daily routine, health, being useful to the people around you have been where you have anchored your whole sense of self. The North Node moving into your 12th now asks you toward something far less structured, more spiritual, more willing to rest without earning the right to first. Old patterns of proving your worth through service or sheer productivity are finally ready to dissolve. This is a quieter transit than most of the others here, but it may be the one that changes you the deepest, because it is asking you to stop needing a reason to simply exist.
Journal Prompt: What would I do with my time if being useful stopped being the point?

Your also reflection hit my right in the heart. I can feel the way I structure a lot of my relationships crumbling and I'm opening my heart to accept it, but it's uncomfortable. Thank you for putting this together. So helpful and comprehensive.
Love this deep dive Michelle! I’m entering my nodal return and this speaks so clearly. Love your work! Hope you’re well! 👏😍✨
